| The
Administrator's Office is
the chief administrative office of the county and reports directly to the Board of
Commissioners. It has the following responsibilities:
1. Prepares Board agendas, advises Board on major policy and spending decisions,
performs research as requested, prepares and implements policies as directed by Board.
2. Convenes Board advisory committees as
needed. (Budget, Labor Relations, etc.)
3. Insures county's compliance with applicable
state and federal laws and requirements.
4. Serves as county personnel office and is
responsible for the recruitment, interviewing and hiring process, as well as compensation,
benefits, job descriptions, job evaluations, labor negotiations and disciplinary actions.
5. Supervises the and directs payroll process.
6. Prepares, recommends and presents annual
county budget and tax levy and capital improvement plan.
7. Acts as liaison between Board and
departments to assure cooperation and effective operation of the county.
8. Reviews and recommends action on economic
development assistance.
9. Serves as responsible authority for data
privacy act compliance.
10. Supervises safety and risk
management/insurance functions.
11. Provides public and media with news about
county business.
12. Represents county at community and
inter-governmental meetings.
13. Performs other responsibilities as
directed by the County Board.
The office consists of the Administrator, an Administrative Assistant and
a Payroll/Budget Specialist . It was created by the Board in 1977. |
