| Special Wastes |
| Tires |
Most tire dealers accept tires for recycling. Tires may also
be recycled at the Waseca County Landfill. There is a charge to recycle tires. Call (507)
835-0662 for prices. |
| Vehicle Batteries |
Businesses that sell automotive (lead acid) batteries accept
used batteries for recycling. The Waseca County Recycling Center in Waseca also accepts
vehicle batteries for recycling for no charge. |
| Used Motor Oil and Motol Oil Filters |
Waseca County has a self-serve tank for used oil
which may be used by the public at no charge. Oil containers are also disposed of
here. Full service auto centers often accept used oil as well. We also accept used oil
filters for a fee of 50 cents per filter. |
| Fluorescent Lamps |
All area hardware stores accept fluorescent bulbs for
recycling as does Retrofit Recycling on Hwy 14, Owatonna. No charge for bulb disposal to
County residents. Businesses should call for our price per bulb. |
| Major Appliances |
Included are washers, dryers, dishwashers,
hot water heaters, garbage disposals, trash compactors, microwave ovens, stoves, air
conditioners, refrigerators, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, and furnaces.
These are accepted for recycling at the County Recycling Center, the Waseca County
Landfill, and by many appliance dealers. Some garbage haulers accept appliances for
recycling as well. Waseca County charges a fee per appliance. |
