Thursday, January 3, Waseca County Waste & Recycling Limited Operations to Begin

New Update

Waseca County Waste & Recycling services will be re-opening in a temporary location at the Waseca County Fairgrounds with limited services on Thursday, January 3 at 7 a.m. following a fire that occurred Wednesday. The temporary fairgrounds site is located at 900 3rd Street NE near the County fuel pumps on the north side of the Waseca County Extension Building. Hours of operation will be Mon. through Fri. 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sat. 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The following list provides information regarding accepted items.

ITEMS THAT WILL BE TAKEN:
Household Garbage in Bags
Recycling
Appliances
Electronics
Christmas Trees/Small Brush

ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE TAKEN:
NO Demo
NO Furniture
NO Mattresses
NO Large loads (larger than pick up box)
NO Large Trucks

NO Drop off will be allowed after hours. This will be strictly enforced and violators will be prosecuted.

The fairgrounds site will be used temporarily while long-term service options are planned.

Residential customers and commercial haulers with items not accepted temporarily at the fairgrounds location may utilize the Waste Management of Southern Minnesota facility in Clarks Grove or the Blue Earth County Ponderosa Landfill as alternative sites for material disposal.

Waste Management of Southern Minnesota is located at 25237 755th Street, Clarks Grove. Operating Hours are Mon. through Fri. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and customers are required to check-in at the office and may pay by credit card or check. The Blue Earth County Ponderosa Landfill is located at 20028 Gooseberry Lane, Mankato with operating hours Mon. through Fri. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sat. 8 a.m. 12 p.m. Facility information is available at www.blueearthcountymn.gov/ponderosa.
